Three Special Community Chanukah Celebrations
Come to the “Kotel” Sunday, December 25 • 10 am Menorah Park’s Saltzman Auditorium The community is invited to watch the lighting of the Menorah in Israel at the Kotel. Bring your thoughts and hopes to place in Menorah Park’s replica of the wall. Also, enjoy light holiday refreshments and holiday memories during this Festival of Lights celebration. Menorah Lights: Generation to Generation A Menorah Park and Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage Community Storytelling Event Tuesday, December 27 • 1 – 3 pm • FREE It’s Chanukah time – share your “light” with others by reliving holiday memories during a new community celebration. Individuals, families and community organizations can have a table in Menorah Park’s Sallie and Robert D. Deitz Piazza, adorned with photos, Chanukah menorahs, dreidels, artwork and other personal treasures that help tell the story of meaningful traditions. The interactive and intergenerational afternoon includes snacks, crafts, music and more. Attendees can also shop for handcrafed Judaica and inspired children’s gifts from the Maltz Museum Store and the Menorah Park Gift Shop. The Chanukah fun continues with Friends of the Maltz Museum’s Candle Lighting, at the Maltz Museum, on Wednesday, December 28 at 5 pm. Children of all ages and backgrounds are invited to celebrate the Jewish festival of lights by singing songs, playing the dreidel game, exploring The Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery and indulging in a sweet cookie reception.
