The Gathering Place
The Gathering Place is a caring community that supports, educates and empowers individuals and families touched by cancer through programs and services provided free of charge. The programs provide education and information, support, and tools to help manage the stress of a cancer diagnosis. The Gathering Place has two locations in Beachwood and one in Westlake. Below is a listing of upcoming programs at The Gathering Place located at 23300 Commerce Park in Beachwood. All programs require advance registration by calling 216.595.9546 unless noted. Chair Yoga Saturdays, 11:45 am – 12:30 pm All yoga postures, breathing and meditation are done seated in a chair. Prostate Cancer Information Session Thursday, October 13, 5:30 – 6:15 pm An opportunity for men newly diagnosed (within last 6 months) to ask questions, connect with prostate cancer survivors and learn about support and resources. No registration required. Building Resilience Thursdays, October 27, November 3 and 10, 6:30 – 7:30 pm This 3-session program will teach you heart-focused breathing techniques to help you manage stress, including symptoms of fatigue and sleep disturbance. Family members welcome. Breast Cancer A to Z: Metastatic Breast Cancer Saturday, October 29 • 8:30 – 11:15 am Topics include treatments for metastatic breast cancer, frequently asked questions and strategies to reduce stress. Continental breakfast provided. Practicing Forgiveness Wednesday, November 2, 6:30 – 8 pm Learn practices and tools so you can incorporate forgiveness into your daily life.
