Leslie Royce Resnik Honored with NCJW Hannah G. Solomon Award
Leslie Royce Resnik was presented with the Hannah G. Solomon Award, National Council of Jewish Women’s most prestigious honor, at the organization’s September 14 opening meeting at Beechmont Country Club. The award is given periodically to an NCJW member who exemplifies the ideals of the organization’s founder in 1893, Hannah G. Solomon. Resnik, vice president of communications for NCJW since 2014, has a long history with the organization. She joined as a young married woman and immediately became a Big Sister at Bellefaire, working with emotionally disturbed children. She became editor of the NCJW bulletin, a position she held for four years, and served on the Board of Trustees for Bellefaire and for NCJW. “I have NCJW to thank for my career choice,” said Resnik. “When I went back to work, I had to choose between social work and journalism, the two professions that I first encountered in my work with NCJW.” Resnik chose the latter and pursued a 33-year career in public relations before returning to the organization where it all began. “I learn something new every day as a result of my NCJW work,” she said. Resnik graduated from Shaker Heights High School, attended Goucher College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Case Western Reserve University. She pursued a master’s degree in public relations and worked for Cuyahoga Community College, Proforma, Stern Advertising and Liggett-Stashower, where she spent 22 years. “Leslie’s energy, creativity and professionalism have contributed so much to this organization,”
