Stratton House Speaker Series
Residents of the Stratton House condominiums invite you to attend their October 17 speaker series event, featuring historian Terry Pollack, whose timely topic is “How Fear is a Key Factor in This Election.” The program, free and open to the community, will take place in the building’s social room at 22655 Chagrin Blvd., Beachwood. Mono-Print Workshop Saturday, October 22 • 1-3 pm Join printmaker Lisa Schonberg for a beginning mono-print class. Participants will learn the basics of applying ink to a sheet of plastic with additive and subtractive methods, as well as employing stencils, soft textures, collage and even natural materials – leaves and pine needles – to make a print. Textures, paper and inks will be provided. Optional: bring your own photos, sketches and soft materials, such as yarn, string, lace, leaves, etc. Please bring an apron or wear old clothes and rubber gloves. $25/BAC members; $35/non-members. Silk Scarf Painting Workshop Sunday, October 30 • 1 – 4:30 pm Enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of silk painting with well-known fiber artist Gunter Schwegler. Design and paint a beautiful silk scarf. No experience necessary. Fee includes all materials. $35/BAC members; $45/non-members. Registration deadline is October 10. Classical Revolution Sunday, November 6 • 2 pm Enjoy music performed by this accomplished string quartet composed of graduates from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Musical offerings range from Mozart to Gershwin to Philip Glass. This program is free and open to the community. Freewill offering accepted.

Inked Images: Seven Printmakers Friday, October 14 – Sunday, November 6 Gallery Hours: Mon. – Fri. 10 am – 4 pm; Sat. 10 am – 3 pm; Sun. 10 am – 1 pm Opening Reception: Saturday, October 15 • 5 – 8 pm Inked Images features the artwork of seven printmakers (Abbey Blake, Amy Casey, Liz Maugans, Wendy Partridge, Nicole Schneider, Lisa Schonberg and Paula Zinsmeister) who express a wide range of traditional and contemporary themes, from the natural to the abstract, including three-dimensional pieces, such as books and sculptures.
